For the Love” has been an oft-quoted pet phrase I have abused with regularity over the span of many years. I used it all the time in ways that made sense and in ways that utterly didn’t. I used it so much that I named my podcast after it. I found it a delightful catchall response — and I still do. There is really no end to its uses.
After all, “love” is why we live and breathe. For the love of our families and people; for the love of our neighbors and community; for the love of what makes us feel alive; for the love of what is good and right and wondrous and thought-provoking; for the love our own little souls; okay even for the love of high-waisted jeans and Netflix shows and 90s country music. Look, we can have some nonsense, too.
One of the best parts of being human is other humans. It’s true, because life is hard; but people get to show up for one another and we remember we are not alone. We can live and love wholeheartedly.
Love is really the most excellent way. This is honestly what matters.
